War and Peace

Our Fall Concert was a great success. On Sunday, November 11, the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day, the San Francisco City Chorus and the Calvary Chancel Choir joined forces for a very special concert at Calvary Presbyterian Church, honoring the Armistice and honoring veterans. Performing Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass and Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem, the two choirs, two conductors, soloists and orchestra gave an inspired concert that seemed to touch all who were there. From our audience of 600+:

“The concert was absolutely superb in every respect. It far surpassed our expectations … What a blend the chorus achieved. Every nuance in both works came across beautifully. We were deeply moved.”

“I told you how much I hate choral concerts. I stand corrected. Yesterday’s concert was so amazing. I had not been so moved by a piece of music in many years. We were so glad we came.”
