What a lovely afternoon this was!

Many thanks to all who volunteered, showed up and sang Handel’s lovely music together, in person once again.

Our Fall Concert

Thank you to all:

We are grateful to our choristers, artistic staff, volunteers, soloists, strings from the SF Academy Orchestra, Old First Church, and–last but not least–our audience for making this concert in the midst of COVID a real success.

Antonio Vivaldi’s characteristic bouncing and boundless energy combined with the nobility of his long lines made this Gloria a fun and uplifting piece for singers and audience alike. Franz Schubert wrote his short Mass in G Major at the age of 18 while working full-time as a school teacher! This exquisitely beautiful, evocative choral work is so characteristic of Schubert’s hometown of Vienna. We loved singing both of them.

The San Francisco City Chorus has been singing together in person again! Rehearsals resume in early January 2022.

Repertoire will be announced soon.

Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 7 pm at Lakeside Presbyterian Church, 201 Eucalyptus Dr, San Francisco. As always, our esteemed choral director Larry Marietta and acclaimed accompanist John Walko are our guides.

Remembering our 2018 War and Peace concert

Revisit one of the most memorable concerts in our recent history: the San Francisco City Chorus and the Calvary Chancel Choir joined forces for a very special concert at Calvary Presbyterian Church on Sunday November 11, 2018, honoring the 100-year anniversary of the Armistice and honoring veterans.

Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass (Larry Marietta, conductor)

Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem (Michael Conley, conductor).

John R.S. Walko, Organ. Jennifer Paulino, Soprano. Lisa van der Ploeg, Alto. Michael Desnoyers, Tenor. Hadleigh Adams, Baritone.
